MASON CITY | Anthony “Tony” D. Mann, 35, of Mason City died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.
A celebration of Tony~s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 N. Delaware Ave., Mason City, with Pastor Mark Lavrenz officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
A visitation with a public viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City. A Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday.
Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Tony~s name in care of his family, 116 14th St. N.W., Mason City, IA 50401.
Anthony Douglas Mann, son of Randy and Kim Chaplin, was born May 14, 1978, in Osage. He attended school in Mason City and graduated from the Mason City High School in 1997. While Tony was in school, he began working at the KIA radio station and later KIMT. Tony was involved with entertainment beginning at the age of 16, working in the music industry and developed his “Encore Mobile DJ” business which he had for more than 19 years.
At the age of 21, Tony moved to Minneapolis and worked for Target where he was a front end manager and later at Best Buy.
He was united in marriage to Christy Lindquist and to this union, two beautiful girls were born: Caitlin and Zoe. The family lived in Hayward, Wis., for three years before moving back to Mason City in 2006 where they made their home. He continued working for KIMT as a master control specialist and later as a salesman for Lyons Toyota Dodge. Most recently, he was involved with the North Iowa Bulls as a videographer, drove for Odyssey Limousine and DJ~d for Kirk~s Custom DJ.
Tony~s passion in life was music. He sang and DJ~d for many events around the North Iowa area. He cherished his girls and family and spent much of his time with them. He loved photography and his personality was contagious. Even for a brief meeting you would part as friends.
He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and currently attended the Rhythm Church. He was a Mason of the Travelers Lodge 679 of Clear Lake.
Left to cherish Tony~s memory are Randy and Kim Mann, Mason City; daughters, Caitlin and Zoe Mann and their mother, Christy Mann; brothers, Bryan (Lexi Kinseth) Mann, Mason City, and Keith (Jordan) Mann, Cedar Falls; paternal grandmother, Betty Ruth Bauge, Iowa Falls; aunt, Jolaine (Mike) Swieger, Des Moines; uncles, Felton (Delmarie) Chaplin and Craig Chaplin, both of Iowa Falls; fiancée, Dawn Sundvold and her children, Manly; 8 step-aunts and uncles, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandpas, Neil Mann and Robert Bauge and his maternal grandparents, Keith and Wanda Chaplin, along with his aunt, June Garwick.
As an eye donor, Tony~s family would like to acknowledge that he gave the most precious gift anyone could give, the gift of sight.
