Vernita M. Clock, 85, of Eldora, Iowa, and formerly of Geneva, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 16, at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls. A memorial services for Vernita M. Vernita Mae Johansen was born March 21, 1928 at Alexander, Iowa, the daughter of Karl Johansen and Mae [Statlander] Johansen. She graduated from the Geneva Community Schools and attended the Hamilton Business School in Mason City. On June 25, 1948, Vernita was united in marriage to Dallas Leon Clock at the Geneva United Methodist Church. The couple operated a General Mercantile Store in Geneva for ten years and then moved to Eldora, Iowa where Vernita became a deputy Auditor for Hardin County Iowa for 20 years.
Vernita M. Clock is survived by her two sons: Ronald [Mary] Clock of Eldora, Iowa, Doug [Kathy] Clock of Portland, Oregon; two grandchildren: Chelsea Clock [Jacob] Bell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Joseph [Lisa] Van-Clock of Portland, Oregon; three great grandchildren: Sam Van-Clock, Brodie Van-Clock, and Jac Bell; a brother: Arlo [Beverly] Johansen of Eldora, Iowa, and a sister: Arlene Furman of Boone, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Mae and Karl Johansen; her brother, Evanel Johansen; and her husband: Dallas Clock.
