Steven Hammarmeister, 53, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at his home. Funeral services for Steven Hammarmeister will be 2:30 pm Saturday at the First Christian Church, 221 Fischer Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Private family burial will be at the Alden Cemetery. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Steven Ray Hammarmeister was born December 3, 1960, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Roy and Shirley [Mitterer] Hammarmeister. He graduated Iowa Falls High School with the class of 1979. On January 23, 1980, Steve was united in marriage to Brenda Lee Crosser at Denver, Colorado. To this union one daughter was born: Amy Lee. Steve started work with Hi-Way Lumber, Iowa Falls, and transferred with them to Denver, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1990 the couple moved back to Iowa Falls where he was employed with Ralston-Purina Co. He loved his family dearly, especially his daughter Amy and his nieces and nephews. He had a way about him that made you feel special.
Steve Hammarmeister is survived by his wife: Brenda Hammarmeister of Iowa Falls; his daughter: Amy Hammarmeister of Iowa Falls; his father: Roy [Kathryn] Hammarmeister of Iowa Falls; two brothers: Roger [Marilyn] Hammarmeister of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Alan [Judy] Hammarmeister of Iowa Falls; a sister: Barb Hammarmeister of Indianola, Iowa; and his mother-in-law: Karen Crosser of Iowa Falls.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Shirley Hammarmeister; and his father-in-law: Gary Crosser, Sr.
