Rhonda Ellene Krambeer, 45, 105 W.
Lake St., Ventura, IA, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001 at her
home. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 1 at
the Church of Christ, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Jim
Allard and the Rev. Alan Sheldon officiating. Interment
will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be
made to the Rhonda Ellene Krambeer Memorial Fund.
Rhonda was born March 20, 1955 in Mason City, Iowa,
the daughter of Marlin and Elizabeth Miller. She
graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1973. Rhonda
married Phillip Krambeer August 4, 1973 in Sioux Falls,
S.D. They lived in Clear Lake until 1980, then moved to
the Waterloo, Iowa area, and moved back to Clear Lake in
1982. They moved to Ventura in 1992. She worked as a
county home health aid and drove the bus for Head Start
in Clear Lake. Rhonda loved to sing songs with the kids
on the bus. She loved her dog Cocoa, watching the
Discovery Channel, playing Jeopardy, reading and cooking
for her family. She especially liked helping people,
loved her grandchildren and spoiling them. She also
enjoyed fishing, the family picnicking, sitting around
the campfires and feeding the birds. Rhonda was a
member of the Church of Christ, in Clear Lake.
Rhonda is survived by her husband Phillip Krambeer,
Ventura; daughter Tara and her husband Dan Lincicum,
Clear Lake, and daughter April Krambeer, Ventura; her
father, Marlin Miller and step-mother Diane, Clear Lake;
maternal grandmother, Marjorie Caffrey, Clear Lake;
paternal grandmother, Corrine Miller, Clear Lake;
step-paternal grandmother, Ella Mae Ouverson, Clear
Lake; one brother, Jeff Miller and his wife Christine,
Green, Iowa; two grandchildren, David John Lincicum and
Daphne Jo Lincicum; one sister-in-law, Linda Moeller and
her husband Ken, Naperville, Ill.; and one
brother-in-law, Charles Krambeer, Forest City, Iowa.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother,
Elizabeth Ann Caffrey, and one sister-in-law, Laura
Krambeer.
Dr. George Earl Jurgenson
Dr. George Earl Jurgenson, 86, of 1700 N. 24th St.,
Clear Lake, died Friday, March 2, 2001 at Mercy Medical
Center-North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday,
March 6, at the Evangelical Free Church in Clear Lake
with the Rev. David Wiersbe officiating. Graveside
services were Tuesday at the Meservey Cemetery, Meservey,
Iowa. The family suggests memorials may be given in his
name.
Dr. George Earl Jurgenson was born Feb. 1, 1915 in
rural Truman, Minn., to George and Eliza (Ableman)
Jurgenson. After graduating from Truman High School,
George attended the Des Moines Still College of
Osteopathy in Des Moines, Iowa, where he graduated in
1937 with a degree in Osteopathic Medicine.
Earl moved to Meservey, in 1937 and entered into
family practice. In 1942 he met Jane Slusher and they
were married on May 9, 1943 in Truman, Minn. He
continued to serve his ³patient friends² for 43 great
years, until his retirement in 1980. Earl and Jane then
moved to Hot Springs Village, Ark., where they lived
until their return to Clear Lake, Iowa in 1992.
During his medical practice, Earl was honored with
two community celebrations recognizing his dedication to
Meservey and surrounding communities. During these
events, he was given the key to the City of Meservey.
His dedication included not only his medical expertise,
but also his caring and generous attitude. For example,
he always left this office doors open so that patients
may come in at any time, or so that children from the
school across the street could wait inside for their
rides.
Earl was a past member of the United Meservey
Methodist Church, Hot Springs Village United Methodist
Church and Clear Lake United Methodist Church. He was a
member of the Evangelical Free Church of Clear Lake at
the time of his death.
Dr. Jurgenson was actively involved in the Iowa
Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (ISOPS),
and the American Osteopathic Association throughout his
medical career. He served as a delegate and board member
of the Iowa Society, and served as president of ISOPS in
1977-78. He was also on the Board of Trustees of the
College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des
Moines, and a lifetime member of the Arkansas
Osteopathic Society.
He was also a member of the Clear Lake Noon Lions
Club, the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and McDonaldıs 27
Club.
Dr. George Earl Jurgenson is survived by his wife of
57 years, Jane; daughter Susan and her husband, Robert
H. Pals, of Meservey, daughter Judy and her husband Dr.
Robert Gross of Clear Lake; grandchildren Thomas
(Shelly) Pals of Alexander, Iowa, Sara Pals of Meservey,
Alison Gross of Iowa City, and Cooper Gross of Clear
Lake; great-grandchildren Robert, Brianna and Brandi
Pals; and many family members and friends.
His parents; a brother, Ralph Jurgenson and his
wife, Lydia, preceded
him in death.
Eleanor Agatha Breheny
Eleanor Agatha Breheny,
88, of Hakes Homes, Mason City, Iowa formerly Clear
Lake, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 in Mason City.
Funeral Mass was held Sat. 10:30 a.m. March 10, 2001 at
St. Patrickıs Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with Msgr.
Robert Hogan officiating. Interment was in the Clear
Lake Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to St.
Patrickıs Catholic Church or Salvation Army.
Eleanor was born August 25, 1912 in New Hampton,
Iowa the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Noughton) Murphy.
She attended school at St. Josephıs Catholic School in
New Hampton and graduated from New Hampton High School
in 1930. She then attended Mount Mercy College, Cedar
Rapids, Iowa. She married C. Patrick Breheny July 22,
1932 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Des Moines, Iowa.
They moved to Clear Lake, Iowa in 1946 where she
worked for Helmıs dairy and then worked for the Dept. of
Social Services until her retirement in 1978.
Eleanor was a member of St. Patrickıs Catholic
Church and was past Grand Regent of C.D.A., St.
Catherineıs circle, and volunteered for R.S.V.P., Girl
Scouts and was a CYO leader.
She is survived by her three children, Mary Margaret
Delaney and her husband Mike, Wood Dale, Ill., Barbara
Piper and her husband Lloyd, Chico, Calif., Patrick
Breheny and his wife Tonja, Bismark, N.D., and eight
grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and a
sister-in-law Lorretta Murphy, New Hampton, Iowa. She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1961,
son Terry in 1986 and three sisters Alice, Merce and
Marie and one brother Gerald.
The family wants to give a special thank you to her
caregivers over her years of care, Norma Sheriff, late
Florence Emhoff and finally Judy Hakes.

Josephine Torgerson
Josephine Torgerson, 89, 104 W. 34th St., Clear
Lake, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at her home. Funeral
services were held Friday, March 16, at Zion Lutheran
Church, Clear Lake. Interment was in the Clear Lake
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest
memorials to Zion Lutheran Church in memory of M.
Josephine Torgerson.
Josephine was born March 14, 1911 in Livermore,
Iowa. She graduated from Livermore High School. She
married Marshall Torgerson Nov. 4, 1933 in Cedar Falls,
Iowa. They moved with his job as a teacher and coach to
Thor, Slater, Huxley, Burt, Hanlontown, Adel, Northwood
and West Des Moines, Iowa. In 1984 they moved to Clear
Lake. Josephine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in
Clear Lake.
Josephine is survived by her son Jerald (Jerry)
Torgerson and his wife Jean, Mason City, Iowa; three
grandchildren, Ann Ross, Apple Valley, Minn., Sarah
Torgerson, St. Louis Park, Minn. and Eric Torgerson,
Minneapolis, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Sam and
Elizabeth Ross; one sister, Loretta Callaghan, Chicago,
Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband Marshall Torgerson, on Oct 31, 1985; and several
brother and sisters.
Evelyn Carol Sorenson
Evelyn Carol Sorenson, 79, of rural Hanlontown,
Iowa, died Monday, March 19, 2001 at the Muse-Norris
Hospice Inpatient Unit of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 23, 2001, at
Grace Lutheran Church, Hanlontown, with the Rev. David
Werges officiating. Burial was in Brush Point Cemetery,
rural Hanlontown. In lieu of flowers, the family request
that memorials be made in her name to Grace Lutheran
Church, Special Projects Funds.
Evelyn C. Sorenson was born March 26, 1921, to
Samuel and Mildred (Stuckey) Gooden at Britt, Iowa. She
received her education in country schools through sixth
grade. She attended junior high in Hanlontown and
graduated as an adult from North Central Community High
School in Manly.
She was united in marriage to Kelmer Sorenson on
August 14, 1937. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace
Lutheran Church in Hanlontown. She was active throughout
the years as a Sunday School teacher, a member of
W.E.L.C.A., a church council member and a member of the
church circles. She was director for six years at the
Worth County Childrenıs Development Center in Kensett
and was director for two years at the Childrenıs Garden
in Northwood, which she helped to organize.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of
63 years, Kelmer of rural Hanlontown; one daughter,
Deloris Downs and her husband, Dan, of Lake Havasu City,
Az.; one son Lynn and his wife, Cynthia, of rural
Hanlontown; five grandchildren, Stacey Lunsford and
husband, Victor; Joel Lemmerman and wife, Leah, Jamie
Sorenson and wife, Angela, Michelle Gobrecht and
husband, Duane, and Christina Sorenson; six
great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kyra Sorenson, Drew
Lunsford, Jake Gobrecht, and Shelby and Courtney
Lemmerman; one sister, Lavon; one brother, Sam Gooden
and wife, Rita; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four
brothers, and one sister.
Erwin "Erv" Zuehlke
Erwin "Erv" Zuehlke, 80, 2 Timberlane Dr., Clear
Lake, died Monday, March 19, 2001 at St. Maryıs
Hospital, Rochester, Minn. A Memorial service was held
Thursday, March 22, at the Galilean Lutheran Church,
Highway 18 W., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Peter Narum
officiating. Military honors was by the Clear Lake
V.F.W. An inurnment was held at Memorial Park Cemetery,
Mason City, Iowa. Memorials may be given to the Erwin E.
Zuehlke Memorial Fund.
Erwin was born July 28, 1920, in Posen, Poland, the
son of Otto and Nathalie Zuehlke. He came to the United
States with his parents at the age of five, and moved to
Britt, Iowa. He graduated from Garner High School in
1938. He attended Mason City Junior College. Erwin
married Elaine Wearda February 7, 1943 in Mason City. He
served in the U.S. Army during WW II, enlisting at Camp
Dodge, Iowa, March 27, 1943 and discharged from Fort
Bragg, N.C. Oct. 10, 1945. When he returned they lived
in Mason City where Erwin worked at Montgomery Ward as a
furniture manager. They moved to Clear Lake in 1949
where he worked as a real estate broker for 30 years,
first at Stuart Realty and later owning Lake Realty. He
retired in 1979.
Erv enjoyed fishing and hunting at his cabin in
Sioux Narrows, Canada. He was a member of Galilean
Lutheran Church, Past President of the Clear Lake Noon
Lions; District Lions Governor of 9X-2; and was a
District Council Chairman.
Erwin is survived by his wife Elaine Zuehlke, Clear
Lake; three children, Terry Zuehlke and his wife Julie,
Golden Valley, Minn., Jan Lande and her husband Paul,
Huxley, Iowa, and Pam Maurer and her husband John, Ames,
Iowa; eight grandchildren, Matthew Beschorner, Kirsten
Homme and her husband Jim, Jeff Zuehlke, John Lande,
Todd Maurer, Adam Lande, Rob Maurer, and Eric Lande.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two
brothers, Walter and Helmuth; one infant son Dickie; one
daughter Linda Beschorner; a son-in-law, Tom Beschorner;
and a granddaughter, Tara Beschorner.

Alberta Mae Heitland
Alberta Mae Heitland, 73, of 1215 10th Street SE,
Mason City, died Friday, March 23, 2001 at her home
following a lengthy illness of heart disease. A funeral
mass was held on Monday, March 26, at 11 a.m. at St.
Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, with Father David
Kucera officiating. Interment followed at the Clear
Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alberta
M. Heitland Memorial Fund.
Alberta Mae Hickey was born Jan. 11, 1928 in Clear
Lake Township, the daughter of Leo and Agnes (Keenan)
Hickey. Her parents farmed south of Nora Springs and
later moved to Mason City. During World War II they
lived near El Cino, Calif., later returning to Mason
City where Alberta graduated from St. Joseph High School
in 1945.
She was united in marriage to Lester Heitland on
June 20, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason
City. Alberta was a lifelong homemaker, wife, and
mother. She loved music, dancing, fishing, letter
writing, and reading. Lester and Alberta traveled the
United States extensively while delivering recreational
vehicles. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Lester,
of Mason City; five children, Mrs. William (Janis)
Garrard of Mason City, Doris Perau of Peoria, Ill., Mrs.
Gary (Bonnie) Farman of West Palm Beach, Fla., Gregory
and Janine Heitland of No Branch, Minn., and Glen
Heitland of Squaw Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Donald
(P. Renee) Babbitt of Crosslake, Minn., and Mrs. Terril
(Billie) Weydert of Mason City; one brother, Robert
Hickey of Mason City; her mother-in-law, Carrie
Heitland; and seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer,
and Kimberly Garrard, Erin and Jeff Perau, and Alisha
and Dillon Heitland.
Alberta was preceded in death by an infant daughter,
Constance Joan Heitland; a brother, Maurice Hickey; and
her parents.
