Sandra K. Bateman
Sandra K.
Bateman, 52, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec.
29, 1998 at her home in Clear Lake, following a
lengthy battle with cancer. She was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in
Longmont, Colo. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel,
Clear Lake, was in charge of services.
Sandra was born Feb. 5, 1946 in Mason City, Iowa,
the daughter of James R. and Marvyl G. (Stevens)
Gilruth. She graduated from Clear Lake High School.
She moved to Denver, Colo., where she obtained her
degree from the College of Cosmetology. She lived in
Longmont until moving to Clear Lake to help take
care of her mother.
She loved her pets and raising flowers.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Alan Bateman and
his wife, Theresa Martin, Erie, Colo., and Daniel
Bateman, Clear Lake; one grandson, Jeremiah
Bateman.She was preceded in death by her parents.
Esther S. Brekke
Esther S. Brekke, 85, of
Garner, Iowa, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999 at North
Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday),
Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Garner, with the Rev. Clyde Kieschnick and Rev.
Robert Bronson officiating. Graveside services will
be held at 2 p.m. at the Roland Cemetery, Roland,
Iowa.
Esther Selma Brekke, the daughter of Samuel I. and
Bertha (Solmonson) Sampson, was born May 27, 1913,
on a farm near Roland. She was baptized and
confirmed at the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland.
She attended the rural schools near McCallsburg. On
Nov. 13, 1932, she married Amos M. Brekke at Roland.
They farmed in Story County before moving to Clear
Lake in 1941, Garner in 1949 and Klemme, Iowa, in
1955. They reitred in 1978 and moved into Clear
Lake. In 1996, Esther moved to the PrairieView
Apartments in Garner. She enjoyed her grandchildren,
friends, gardening, crossword puzzles, Bible study
and baking.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church,
Ladies Aid and a former member of the O.D.O. Club.
She is survived by her children, David Brekke, and
his wife, June, of Portsmouth, Va., Roger Brekke and
his wife, Gloria, of Klemme, Karen Prieve and her
husband, Carroll, of Klemme, Darlene Stephens of
Clear Lake, Sheryl Anderson and her husband, Robert,
Garner, Mark Brekke and his wife, Mary of Norfolk,
Va., and Mary Moon and her husband, Ron, of Elkhart;
29 grandchildren, Michael Brekke, David Brekke, Jr.,
Richard Brekke, Robert Brekke, William Brekke,
Joseph Brekke, Regis Korbe, Karla Sawyer, Kathy
Hussey, Michael Korbe, Patricia Johnson, Levi Brekke,
Charlotte Brekke, Keith Priebe, Clark Priebe, Carrie
Priebe, Craig Priebe, Cory Brekke, Justin Stephens,
Trista “T.J.” Stephens, Shelly Blank, Shawn Huinker,
Grant Anderson, Michael Anderson, Jennifer Brekke,
Sarah Brekke, Aaron Moon, Eric Moon and Kyle Moon;
many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stella
Anderson, Nevada, Iowa, and Effie Sorem, Story City,
Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos, on
April 11, 1985; a grandson, Richard A. Brekke,
September 1996; her parents, a brother, Theodore
Sampson; and a sister, Carrie Sampson.
Music will be provided by organist Beverly Cataldo,
who will accompany Grant and Brenda Anderson, who
will sing as a duet. Harlan Block will be usher.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Michael
Brekke, David Brekke, Jr., Richard Brekke, Robert
Brekke, William Brekke, Joseph Brekke, Regis Korbe,
Karla Sawyer, Kathy Hussey, Michael Korbe, Patricia

Vincent “V.A.”
Welsh, 95, Clear Lake, Iowa, died Wednesday, Dec.
23, 1998 at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East,
Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 28, at Major
Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City, with the Rev.
Kenneth Hatland, of Trinity Lutheran Church
officiating. An Odd Fellows service was held at the
funeral home prior to going to the cemetery.
Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.
Memorials may be directed to the V. A. Welsh
Memorial Fund.Vincent Welsh was born Feb. 11, 1903,
in rural Mason City to Frank and Martha (Schiff)
Welsh. He graduated from Mason City High School and
attended Mason City Junior College.
He married Olive Enabnit on July 22, 1923, at
Evangelical Church, Mason City. They farmed at
Monona, Iowa, and Britt, Iowa, and owned a filling
station at Marble Rock, Iowa. Then they farmed at
Rock Falls, Iowa, for a short time before returning
to the family dairy farm at Mason City until
retiring in 1965.Vincent was a lifetime member of
the Odd Fellows. He enjoyed spending time boating,
fishing, hunting, camping, and attending baseball
games. He also enjoyed spending time with family
and friends, and with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Olive Welsh, Clear
Lake; his daughter, Avonne Gradin and her fiance,
Hilton Willcox, Mason City; his grandson, Marlin
Gradin and his special friend, Kathy Grimsley, Clear
Lake; two great-grandchildren, Tracy Gradin,
Hayfield, Iowa, and Tara Gradin, Mason City; and two
great-great-grandchildren, Chase and Mika.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister,
Vera; a brother, Verle; one grandson, Timothy; and
one great-great-grandson, Zaid.
Bertha M. Petersen
Mrs. Bertha M. Petersen,
81, of Ventura, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999 at
the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City,
Iowa. Funeral services will be held today
(Wednesday), Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit Roisen
officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park
Cemetery, Mason City.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of North
Iowa or Zion Lutheran Church.
Bertha was born Nov. 28, 1917 in Clear Lake, the
daughter of Anton and Minnie (Grell) Larson. She
graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1935. She
continued her education at Hamilton Business College
in Mason City.
Bertha married Everett M. Petersen on April 9, 1938
in Albert Lea, Minn. They lived in Clear Lake and
later moved to Ventura. She worked for a tax service
in Garner, Iowa in the mid 50’s, Clear Lake Creamery
and then in 1963 went to work for Ventura Farmer’s
Co-op as a bookkeeper until her retirement in
1985.Bertha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church,
Clear Lake, and the Tina Rebekah Lodge #105, Clear
Lake.
She is survived by two daughters, Julie Lambert and
her husband, Jack, Albert Lea, Minn. and Janice
Humphrey and her husband, David, Arlington, Texas;
three grandchildren, Rachael Humphrey and her
fiance, Rick Boatwright, Arlington, Brian Lambert
and his wife, Lisa, Austin, Minn., and Ann Lambert,
Winona, Minn.; one brother, Lester Larson, Dubuque,
Iowa; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Venticher and her
husband, Ed, Manning, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son,
John David; her husband, Everett; one sister, Hazel
Allstot; one brother, Donald Larson; brother-in-law,
Fred Martin; and sister-in-law, Virginia Tice, and
her husband, Gayle.

Arthur Charles Rice Sr.
Arthur Charles Rice Sr., 65, Mason City, died
Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at the Muse-Norris Hospice
Inpatient Unit.
His body was cremated. Private family graveside
services were held at the Grinnell Cemetery.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of
arrangements.
Arthur Charles Rice Sr., was born Dec. 8, 1933,
in Grinnell, the son of Merlin and Leona (Rinshaw)
Rice. He owned Art’s Body Shop in Grinnell and
Marshalltown. He worked as a salesman at Price
Motors in Mason City, until falling ill in 1996.
He was a great creator of many crafts and a fine
artsman.
He is survived by his children, Arthur C. Rice
Jr., "Ace", of Clear Lake, Mike Rice, Melody Rice
and Rachell Rice Rice, all of Los Angeles, Steve
Griffith of Clear Lake, Gina McClun and her husband,
Brent, Lawrence, Kan., Kim Gjetley and her husband,
Bruce, of Thornton; his grandchildren, Amber,
Kendra, Kali, and Bruce Gjetley, all of Thornton,
Stephanie and Sammoth Griffith of Clear Lake, and
Jason and Scott Rice of Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Galen Manfred Undercoffler,
65, former Clear Lake, Iowa, resident, died Jan. 12,
1999 in Laguna Hills, Calif. He is survived by his
wife, Tanya; five children; one brother, Rudy of
Milwaukee, Wis.; a sister, Victoria O’Brien, and
mother, Bertha Undercoffler, both of Milwaukee, Wis

LeRoy D. (Giz-Mo)
Gaebel, 75 of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan.
17, 1999 at his home in Clear Lake. He was cremated
at his request. His memorial service will be
Thursday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Jim Norem
of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mason City, Iowa,
officiating. Military honors will be by the Clear
Lake VFW. Family will greet friends from 4-7:30
p.m. (today) Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the funeral home
and one hour before the service on Thursday.
Memorials may be directed to the LeRoy Gaebel
Memorial Fund.
LeRoy was born May 21,
1923 in Chicago, Ill., the son of John and Molly
Gaebel. He served in the United States Navy during
World War II and was honorably discharged on July 9,
1948.
LeRoy worked for the
Clear Lake Bakery for 36 years as a cake decorator.
He took great pride in his work and willingly shared
his homemade “goodies” with his family and friends.
After retirement he served as a general “handyman”
and caretaker for many neighbors and friends at the
Longbeach Trailer Park, where he resided. He was the
first person snowblowing after a snowfall and mowing
in the summer months. He was rather a private
person, but will be remembered as a loving father,
grandfather, great-grandfather and faithful friend.
His friends remember his great sense of humor, never
a harsh word for anyone and particularly his
willingness to help anyone at any time.
He is survived by his
two daughters, Diana (Dee) Greenan, and her husband,
Mike, Mason City, Iowa, and Sandra K. Minert, Clear
Lake; one son, David E. Gaebel, and his wife, Sue,
Cary, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jeff Riser and his
wife, Cindy, Mason City, Scott Minert and his wife,
Lori, St. Cloud, Mo., Kristy Minert, Clear Lake,
Mindy Gaebel, Heather Gaebel, Matt Gaebel, Cary;
eight great-grandchilren, Johnnie L. Riser, Destina
Riser, Austin Richardson, Ashley Riser, Brittlyn
Minert, Skylee Minert, Tyler Isch, and Clara Minert.
LeRoy was preceded in
death by his parents and one grandchild, John E.

formerly of Mason City, Iowa, died Monday, Jan. 18,
1999 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit,
Mason City. Services are pending at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

Kellogg
Michael Thomas Kellogg, 60, West Des Moines, Iowa,
died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999 at Mercy Hospital Medical
Center, Des Moines, Iowa. A funeral mass was held
Tuesday, Jan. 19 at St. Francis of Assis Catholic
Church, West Des Moines. He was cremated.
Michael was born in Des
Moines, where he had lived the past year. He had
previously lived in Glendale, Ariz. and Glendale,
Calif. He was employed by Danielski Farm Transport
as a dispatcher. He was a member of St. Francis of
Assisi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his
wife, Cathy Kellogg, West Des Moines; four children,
Ann Marie Kellogg, West Des Moines, Peter, Sarah,
and Joseph Kellogg; three sisters, Lark Roberts,
West Des Moines, Cherie Lee Oehlert, Clear Lake,
Bonnie Millard, West Des Moines.

Traci Bradley McGowan, 29,
died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, in a car accident in
Piedmont, Ala.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, Jan. 17. Interment was held Jan. 18,in
Centre, Ala. Traci was born Oct. 9, 1969, in
Chattanooga, Tenn., the daughter of Johnnie Davis
McGowan and former Clear Lake resident Ted McGowan.
She was a graduate of Jacksonville, Alabama, High
School, and had worked for McDonald’s since
graduation.
She is survived by her mother,
Johnnie Warmack, of Jacksonville; her father, Ted
McGowan, and his wife, Pamela; and one brother, Jay
McGowan; all of Huntsville, Ala.; grandfather,
Jimmie Davis, of Jacksonville; grandmother, Ruth
McGowan, of Plainview, Minn.; uncles, Jim Singleton
and wife, Judy, Ronnie Davis and wife, Betsy, all of
Jacksonville; Bill McGowan and wife, Judi, of
Urbandale, Iowa; an aunt, Patricia Hoyt and husband,
Robert of Garner, Iowa; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by
one grandfather, Keith McGowan; and one grandmother,
Madeline Davis.

McGowan Ruhnke
Kathryn McGowan Ruhnke, 94,
died Jan. 14, 1999, at the Advocate Transitional
Care Center in Evergreen Park, Ill.
Kathryn, a former area
resident, was born Dec. 17, 1904, in Hampton, Iowa,
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank King. Following
graduation from Hampton High School, she worked for
Peoples Gas and Electric in Mason City, Iowa. On
Oct. 19, 1925, she married Clear Lake resident Jay
E. McGowan, in Albert Lea, Minn. They lived in Clear
Lake until moving to Chicago, Ill. in the early
1940s. While in Clear Lake, she was the editor of
the Clear Lake newspaper.
In Chicago, she worked with
handicapped children for many years, while her
husband, Jay, managed an A&P grocery.
She is survived by a
sister-in-law, Ruth McGowan of Plainview, Minn.; and
several nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death
by her parents; husband, Jay, and second husband,
August Ruhnke; brother O.J. King and his wife,
Carol; brothers-in-law Dale McGowan and Keith
McGowan.
Elayne L.
Headington
Elayne L. Headington, 83, of
Decorah, Iowa, died Saturday Jan. 16, 1999, at the
Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, following a long
illness.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, Jan. 23 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in
Decorah with the Rev. James Dale officiating. Burial
was in the Rockwell Cemetery, Rockwell, Iowa.
Elayne was born on June 13,
1915, to Wellington and Lillian (Farber) Baker in
Sheffield, Iowa.
She is survived by her
husband, Dr. A.J. Headington; one brother, Warren
Baker and his wife, Marie; Longville, Minn.; and
several nieces and nephews.
Roger L. Best
Roger L. Best, 62, Clear Lake,
died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at his home, having
lost his battle against cancer.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday Jan. 26, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear
Lake, with the Rev. Kermit Roisen officiating.
Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear
Lake. The family suggests memorials be given to the
Roger L. Best Memorial fund.
Roger LeRoy Best was born June
25, 1936 at the family’s rural Belmond, Iowa, home.
He was the youngest of four children of Ray C. and
Ella (Kurtz) Best. When he was nine-years-old the
family moved to a farm near Burchinal, Iowa. He
attended rural school and Clear Lake High School,
graduating in 1954.
On Jan. 20, 1956, he married
JoAnn Lenning at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.
Into this union a daughter, Kathy Ann, was born. The
couple farmed for the entirety of their married life
together, raising grain and livestock. Roger also
worked at several "second" jobs, including Allied
Mills, Sinclair Chemicals, and American Crystal
Sugar. His hobbies included playing "500," and he
enjoyed going to auctions and visiting with his many
friends.
He was a member of the Cerro
Gordo County Farm Bureau and a Mt. Vernon Township
DD Trustee.
He is survived by his wife,
Jo, Clear Lake; daughter, Kathy Sinnwell and her
husband, Dave, Mason City, Iowa; a sister Dorothy
Scheffel and her husband, Ed, Mason City; nephews,
Bob and Dennis Dawson; nieces Diane Cornick and Lori
Beatty; great-nephews Kiefer and Kaleb Cornick.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; nephew, Dale Best; sister, Velma
Dawson; and her husband, Earl Dawson.

Clear Lake, Iowa, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999 at the
Muse-Norris Hospice, Mason City, Iowa.
The body was cremated.

charge of memorial service arrangements.

Barbara Lee Lebeuf, 69, Rancho
Mirage, Calif., formerly of Clear Lake, died Dec.
24, 1998.
Services were held at Desert
Memorial Park in Cathedral City, Calif.
Barbara was born Dec. 7, 1929,
to Forde and Ada Prestholt Lee of Clear Lake.
She was a budget analyst for
the United States Forest Service.
She is survived by three sons,
Eric (Rick) Tarr of Yreka, Calif., Tim Tarr of
Oakhurst, Calif., and Paul Tarr, of Huntsville,
Ala.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four
step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Al Lebeuf; her parents, Forde and Ada
Lee; and one sister, Naida Lee Dodge.
Susan Malinda

Susan Malinda Tyler, 61, Clear
Lake, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 20,1999 at Muse
Norris Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.
Memorial services were held
Monday, Jan. 25, at the St. John’s Episcopal Church
with Father Robert Towner officiating. Ward Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of
arrangements. The body was cremated. Memorials may
be made to the Susan Tyler Memorial Fund.
Susan was born Oct. 4, 1937 in
Belmond, Iowa, the daughter of Galen and Kathryn
(Shannon) Hauge. She attended school in Hayfield,
Iowa, and graduated in 1955, then attended Hamilton
Business College in 1956. She worked at Allied Mills
as executive secretary to General Manager for two
years.
Susan married John Tyler in
1958, and to this marriage three sons were born.
Susan attended and graduated from I.A.C.C.C. in Ft.
Dodge, Iowa as a registered nurse. She traveled for
10 years as a traveling nurse. In 1991 she became a
staff nurse at the University of Wisconsin Hospital
in its prison ward and PVS unit. She returned to
Iowa in 1993 due to poor health and has enjoyed her
family, friends, church and many hobbies since that
time. Susan was a member of St. John’s Episcopal
Church, Mason City, Iowa.
She is survived by three sons,
William G. Tyler, Tim Tyler and his wife, Christi,
and Rod Tyler and his wife, Veronica all of Clear
Lake; her mother, Kathryn Koch, Clear Lake; her
brothers, Gary Hauge and his wife, Merilouise,
Ocala, Fla., and Anthony Hauge, Clear Lake; her
sister, Cynthia Wolfram and her husband, Robert,
Ventura, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by
her father.
Patrick Duane

Patrick Duane Stork, 73, of
Clear Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at the
Muse-Norris Hospice In-Patient Unit in Mason City,
Iowa.
Funeral services will be held
Saturday, Jan. 30, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's
Catholic Church in Clear lake with the Msgr. Joseph
J. Slepicka officiating. Following the service, the
body will be cremated and inurnment will take place
at the Osage Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held
Friday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. A scriptural wake
service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. The family
suggests memorials be given in his name.
Patrick was born July 2, 1925
in Clear Lake, the son of Michael Leo and Norma
Marie (Patterson) Stork. He graduated from Clear
Lake High School in 1943.
He served in the United States
Army during World War II as a member of the 179th
Infantry, 45th Division. He spent 15-months overseas
in the European Theater in Italy, Germany and
France. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds
he received in battle in France. He also was the
recipient of the Good Conduct Medal for his service.
Following the service, he
returned to Clear Lake and was employed by Williams
Pipeline. He worked as a pipeliner for 40 years,
retiring in 1987.
On Aug. 28, 1948 Patrick
married Jeannine Henderson at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church in Clear Lake. The couple lived in Clear Lake
until retirement, when they moved to Cherokee
Village, Ark. He served as a lay minister at St.
Michael's Catholic Church while living in that
community.
Due to Patrick's ill health,
they moved back to Clear Lake in 1998 to be closer
to their family.
Patrick was a 26-year member
of the Clear Lake Volunteer Fire Department, serving
as its fire chief for eight years. He also enjoyed
membership in the Clear Lake V.F.W., Moose Lodge and
Elks. He was an avid bowler.
He was a member of St.
Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake and a Fourth
Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of
50 years, Jeannine, of Clear Lake; four children,
Jay Stork and his wife, Melody, of Haywood, Calif.,
Jon Stork, and his wife, Judy, of St. James, Minn.,
Kevin Stork and his wife, Janet, of St. Augustine,
Fla., and Sharon Nelson of St. Paul, Minn.; eight
grandchildren, Jason Stork, Ryan Stork, Shane Stork,
Max Stork, Michael Stork, Sandi Stork, Wes Nelson
and Sadie Nelson; and three step-children, Tricia
Escobar, Liz Escobar and Natalie Escobar.
He was preceded in death by
his parents and a grandson, Sam Thomas.

Dorothy M. Stephens, 87, of
Clear Lake, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999 at the
Muse-Norris Hospice In-Patient Unit in Mason City,
Iowa.
A memorial service will be
held Thursday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Genevieve McGown
will officiate the service. The body was cremated
and inurnment will take place in Lincoln Township
Cemetery, rural Hanlontown, Iowa.
Dorothy was born Oct. 27, 1911
in Fertile, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Rena (Fankel)
White. She attended school in Fertile to the fourth
grade, when the family moved to Clear Lake. After
receiving her high school diploma, she took a course
in dressmaking, designing and tailoring through
correspondence. She opened a shop in her home which
she operated for many years.
On Oct. 12, 1942 she married
Raymond Stephens in Clear Lake. The couple made
their home with Dorothy's mother and cared for her
until she died. Raymond Stephens passed away on Aug.
27, 1972. No children were born.
Dorothy learned to play piano
from her mother at an early age and also studied
with teachers.
She is survived by six nieces
and nephews, Wyn Clark of Springfield, Va., Sharon
O'Neill of Goshen, Ind., Michael Rossiter of
Dubuque, Iowa, Renee' Kapp of Crescent, Ore.,
Rochelle Hanhart of Bath, S.D., and Verde D. O'Neill
of Lakeville, Ind.
She was preceded in death by
her parents and husband; and three sisters, Iris
Gail White Fessenden, Floy Rachel White O'Neill, and
Frances Verone White Rossiter.
Gerald Stolz
Gerald Stolz, 67, of Columbus,
Ohio, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999 at
the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in
Columbus.
Funeral services will be held
today (Wednesday), Jan. 27, 1999 at the Ward-Van
Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. The Rev. Kermit
Roisen, of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, will
officiate. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery
with military honors by the Clear Lake V.F.W.
A service was held Monday,
Jan. 25, at Evans Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio.
Gerald was a retired major and
navigator, United States Air Force veteran of the
Vietnam Conflict, member of Bexley Post #430
American Legion, former quartermaster of V.F.W.
Whitehall Post #8794, Whitehall Moose Lodge #1245.
He is survived by daughters
Janet Ponthieux of Gilbert, Ariz., and Karen Powell
of Wright Wood, Calif.; grandsons, Nicholas
Ponthieux and Christopher Powell; a sister, Verlyn
Tiggeman of Cass Lake, Minn.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Arthur and Agnes Stoltz; and a sister,
Jeanne Crossan.
