Kyle Arnold Mennenga

Kyle Arnold Mennenga, 62, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at home.

His body was cremated. Memorial services were held Sunday, Jan. 31, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.

Kyle Arnold Mennenga was born July 29, 1936, in Belmond, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Beryl (Hake) Mennenga. He married Virginia "Ginny" Hughes, on July 23, 1960, in Belmond.

Kyle grew up in Belmond and graduated from Belmond High School in 1955. He served in the Navy and was stationed on the East Coast. Kyle farmed for many years in the Steam Boat Rock area. He and his wife moved to California in 1984, where he did lawn maintenance. In 1991, his family returned to Iowa. Kyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching. He loved music and watching movies.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Mennenga, Clear Lake, Iowa; children, Eva Burns and her husband, Robert, El Centro, Calif., and Robert Mennenga and his wife, Wanda, Radcliffe; seven grandchildren, Shannon Reinhart and her husband, Grant, El Centro, Shaun Burns, Clear Lake, Sharon Burns, El Centro, Chet and Tyler Mennenga, both of Radcliffe, James Mennenga, Steam Boat Rock, Iowa, and Cody Mennenga, of Radcliffe; three great-grandchildren, Lorainne and Grace Reinhart, both of El Centro, and Jason of Clear Lake; two sisters, Verda Rothstein, Miami, Fla., and Cheryl Aldrich, Clarion, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alyce Mennenga; a daughter in infancy; and a great-grandson, Erin Reinhart.  


Jack R. Hepp

Jack R. Hepp, 86, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at the Heritage Care Center, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. N., Clear Lake, with the Rev. John Ayers officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. The body has been cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, is in charge of the arrangements.
