He was born in Floyd County, Iowa, on his

he was vice-president for procurement for National Beef Packers,

He became an independent cattle buyer in 1942, a business venture
which was interrupted by his service in the United States Army during
World War II and which he resumed following military service. From
1959 until 1965, Lyle was a partner in the Clear Lake Livestock
Auction and was employed by Iowa Beef Processors in Dakota City, Neb.
and Guymon, Okla., from 1965 until his employment by National Beef
Packers in 1974.
On June 20, 1938, Lyle married Winifred S.
Ackley, with whom he shared a devoted, caring and generous family life
and with whom he retired to Fountain Hills in December 1987, following
his retirement from professional life of 54 years in the cattle
industry.
Survivors include his wife, Winnie, Fountain
Hills; daughter and son-in-law, Winnie P. and H. Gary Pannell of
Atlanta, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Jeb and Pat Pringle of Benson,
Ariz.; son and daughter-in-law, Lynn A. and Laura S. Pringle, Oklahoma
City, Okla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of
whom basked in the love, kindness and marvelous good humor which he
brought to his life and family.
Lyle was an
active member of various Methodist churches during his life, including
the Fountain Hills United Methodist Church, as well as several civic
and professional organizations, including The Club (Fountain Hills),
Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, American National
Cattlemen’s
Association, and the BPOE.
