Harvey S.
Miller, 80, of Mesa, Ariz., died at home Monday,
Aug. 28,
1995. Memorial services were held Friday, Sept. 1,
at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in
Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.
Harvey was born Nov. 30, 1914 in Hebron, Wis.,
the son of
Ervin Miller and Mollie Miller (nee) Streng. He
served in the Army
during World War II. He married Lorraine Stebbens
in 1944. They raised three children at Shakopee,
Minn. Harvey was a resident of Clear Lake for 14
years before retiring to Mesa, Ariz.
He is survived by his former wife, Lorraine
Miller, Clear Lake; two
sons, Thomas Miller, New Hope, Minn., and Michael
Miller and his wife, Charise, Mesa, Ariz.; one
daughter, Susan Medina, Clear Lake; three
granddaughters, Nicolle Medina, Clear Lake, Angela
and Michele Miller, both of Mesa, Ariz.

Blanch Mae
Fuller, 102, Clear Lake, died Monday, Aug. 28, 1995,
at
Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. Funeral services
were held Saturday, Sept. 2, at Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Bernard
Olson officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake
Cemetery.
Blanch was born Sept. 7, 1892, in Norwalk, Wis.,
the daughter of
Frederick Thomas Woodliff and Lillian Mae Woodliff
(nee) Beetle. She
attended school in Norwalk and was employed as a
hired girl.
She met her future husband when she and a brother
went to
Dakota to work as ranch house cook and hired hand
for a threshing crew. The workers included Lewis
Lester Fuller, of Clear Lake. After returning to
their respective homes, Lewis later traveled to
Wisconsin to make Blanch his bride. They were
married Feb. 2, 1912, in LaCrosse, Wis. They
returned to South Dakota for a year and then settled
in Clear Lake. She worked in restaurants and as a
practical nurse.
Her hobbies included baking, crocheting afghans
and piecing qults.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church,
Clear Lake and the Grandmother's Club.
She is survived by three grandsons, Larry Fuller,
Clear Lake,
Anthony Fuller, Granada Hills, Calif., and Mark
Fuller, Beatrice, Neb.; and a half-sister, Vella
Nelson, Minneapolis, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband; two sons,
Lester Fuller and Fredrick Fuller; infant twin
daughters; two brothers, Fredrick Woodliff and
Harvey Woodliff; a grand-daughter, Joan Nissen; and
two half-sisters and two half-brothers.

Evelyn (Gift) Taylor, 97, of Mason City, Iowa, died
Monday,
Aug. 28, 1995.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 1, at
the United Methodist
Church in Dallas Center, Iowa, with the Rev. Sushil
Joseph officiating.
Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery, Dallas Center.
The family suggests memorials to the Hazel E. Taylor
memorial fund.
Hazel Evelyn Gift was born Sept. 28, 1897 to
Frank Gift and
Anna (nee) Barmore Gift at Orangeville, Ill., the
second of eight
children.
In 1903, the family moved by train, livestock and
machinery to
Sheldon, Iowa, where they farmed for five years. In
1908, they purchased a farm at Dallas Center, Iowa,
where they lived for many years. After graduating
from high school, Hazel taught country schools for
two years, then majored in elementary education at
Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa.
On June 2, 1920 she was united in marriage to
Harry E. Taylor in
her parent's home. They remained on the farm from
1920 to 1945. They
became the parents of seven children, six sons and
one daughter.
On March 1, 1945, the family moved to a farm at
Swaledale, Iowa.
Due to health reasons Harry and Hazel and the three
youngest children moved to Tucson, Ariz. in 1948. In
1973 the parents moved back to Mason City.
Hazel is survived by six children, Howard Taylor
and his wife,
Elaine, Clear Lake, Gordon Taylor and his wife, Eva,
Mason City,
Donald Taylor and his wife, Betty, Mason City, Ralph
Taylor and
his wife, Shirley, Tucson, Ariz., Marilyn and her
husband, Warren Custer, Hugo, Okla., and Dr. Wendell
Taylor and his wife, Marge of Seminole, Fla.; 22
grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Dorothy McKelvey and Lorene Mullins, both
of Dallas Center; and one brother, Robert Gift,
Marshalltown, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, Harry E. Taylor, who died July 7, 1982; a
son, Allen Robert Taylor, who died in 1933 in a farm
accident; two brothers, Lester and Harry Gift; two
sisters, Lois Elliott and Ethel Aldrich.
Evelyn Friesz was organist, and special music was
provided by
Sons Quintet, accompanied by Marilyn Custer.

1995, at St. Vincint's Hospital, Portland, Ore.
Rev. Merwin served
in the United States Army in Korea, and later went
back to Korea
to minister as a Missionary for many years. Upon
returning to the United States he pastored churches
in Evansville, Ind., and Portland, Ore.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Alaho, Ore.;
two daughters,

Fannie Able was born May 7, 1897, in Ventura, the
daughter of
Amos Hyde and Betsy Hyde (nee) Thronson. Fannie
attended
country school near Ventura. She married Arthur Abel
on Feb. 8, 1922
in Ventura. They farmed for many years in the
Ventura and Garner areas.
She was a member of the Ventura United Methodist
Church, Dorcas
Lady's Circle, Union Dozen Club, Thought and Thimble
Club, Ventura
Women's Club and was an active member of the Senior
Citizen's Center in Ventura.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Abel and his
wife, Dixie, Overland
Park., Kan.; one daughter, Lorraine Reynolds of
Mason City; eight
grandchildren, Steven Abel, Edward Abel, Jeanne
FitzGerald, Joan Moore, Allan Reynolds, Ann Hussong,
Kay Legler and Dawn Moore; 16 great- grandchildren;
10 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.

Helen was born June 1, 1923 in Clinton, Minn.,

Ronald B. Smith on April 22, 1961 in Clear Lake. She

Helen Anna Davis, 88, of Clear
Lake, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995 at the I.O.O.F.
Home in Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 7, at
the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with the
Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Burial services were
held Thursday, Sept. 7, at the United Methodist
Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Fred Lewis
officiating. Burial will be in Clear
Lake Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the
United Methodist Church.
Helen was born May 20, 1907, near Eureka, Ill.,
the daughter of Edward Renz and Anna Renz (nee)
Hamilton. The family moved to Pierre, S.D., for
three years, then traveled to Clear Lake. She
received her education in Clear Lake, graduating in
1925. She then attended college in Boulder, Colo.,
studying home economics.
On July 14, 1929 she married Clair Davis in Clear
Lake. The couple lived in Mason City for a short
time, where Clair was a member of the police force.
She helped Clair to operate a peanut vending machine
business over a 50-mile radius for several years
before starting a family. Helen was co-owner of the
Tot-To-Teen Shop in Clear Lake from 1951-56
with Francis Miller.
Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church
in Clear Lake and helped with the Sunday School
programs there for 43 years. She was also a member
of the Sorosis Club.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Davis, Clear
Lake; a daughter, Judy Lincicum and her husband,
Clayton, Clear Lake; six grandchildren, Dawn Ann
Theilen and her husband, Tim, Clear Lake, Dan
Lincicum, Clear Lake, Daren Lincicum of Fertile,
Iowa, Wendy Lincicum of Des Moines, Iowa, Dawn Marie
Chadrick of Clear Lake, and Jennifer Davis of Des
Moines; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, Clair in 1979; a sister, Thelma Ratkovich;
two half-brothers, Vernon and Harold Richardson; and
one great-granddaughter, Abby Marie Theilen.
Clemon L. Beck
Clemon L. Beck, 83, of Forest
City, died Monday.... [???]
Clemon L. Beck was born on February 17, 1912, in
Garwin, Iowa, the son of Oscar Beck and Lillie Beck
(nee) Thompson. He attended and received his
education in the rural public school system near
Garwin. After completing his formal education he
farmed with his parents on the family farm near
Garwin. He was inducted into the U.S. Airforce
serving
in the South Pacific during World War 2, until his
honorable discharge.
He was united in marriage to Irene West on
November 26, 1945, in Des Moines.
Clemon worked as a custodian for South East
Polk Schools for 3 yearsuntil his retirement in the
early 1980's. Following his retirement as a
crossing guard he was given an award from the South
East Polk School Staff, its students and from the
police department for his faithful and caring
service to the children. Clemon and his wife Irene
had lived in Altoona, Iowa since 1959, and had moved
to Forest City in 1994, to be near their son and his
wife Dennis and Toni Beck, becoming a resident of
the Lake Mills Care Center in January 1995. He
enjoyed gardening, working with his hands fixing
things around the house, was an avid baseball and
Chicago Cubs fan, was good natured, loved his
family, children and his dog Ginger.
He is survived by his wife Irene Beck of Forest
City, one son; Dennis Beck and his wife Toni of
Forest City, five grandchildren; Joe Fuller and his
wife Gail of Harrisonville, Missouri, Matt Fuller of
Los Angeles, CA., Brett Fuller and his wife Gina of
Kansas City, Kansas, Mike Adams of Olathe, Kansas
and Rachael Adams of Tampa, Florida, three
great-grandchildren; Forrest and Brooke Fuller and
Alica Adams, one brother; Gerald Beck and his wife
Beryl of Garwin, Iowa. Three sisters; Flossie Beck,
Gladys Beck, and Helen Rodgers all of Garwin, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one
brother; Volla Beck and one sister, Maggie Beck.
Melbourne J. Trampel
Melbourne (Mel) J. Trampel, 59, of
Rockwell, Iowa died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1995, at his
home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 9, at
Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mason City, Iowa, with
the Rev. Frederick J. Wood officiating. Interment
was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
The family suggests memorials to the Bethlehem
Lutheran Church.
Mel was born May 5, 1936 in Klemme, Iowa, the son
of John P. Trampel and Minnie Trampel (nee) Beek.
He was baptized in the Immanuel Reformed Church,
Klemme, and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church,
Mason City. Mel graduated from Clear Lake High
School in 1955.
On Feb. 23, 1958 Mel married Carol J. Kinne at
Trinity Lutheran Church, Algona, Iowa. They lived on
a farm near Rockwell for thirteen years, while
farming he also drove a milk truck for State Brand
Creamery, Mason City. In April of 1972 they moved to
Fertile, Iowa. Mel went to work at Winnebago
Industries on the production assembly line where he
has
continued to work. They later moved to rural Clear
Lake, Swaledale and then October of 1985 moved back
to the family farm rural Rockwell.
Mel loved wood working, working on the family
farm, animals on the farm, and most of all his
grandchildren. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, Mason City.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Trampel,
Rockwell; three children, Debra Cummingham and her
husband, Tom, Forest City, Iowa, Dan
Trampel, Rockwell, and Darla Reed and her husband,
Jim, Dougherty, Iowa; two brothers Ronald Trampel
and his wife, Kay, Clear Lake, and Merlyn Trampel
and his wife, Nylene, Rockwell; five grandchildren,
Nickolas Cummingham, Jacob Cummingham, Joshua
Cummingham,
Matthew Reed and Larry Trampel; and several nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and
in-laws,
Henry O. E. Reed, Lydia Kinne and Larry Trampel; and
several nieces and nephews.

Elsie J. Woyen, 95, a resident at
the Good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City, Iowa,
formerly of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Sept. 13,
1995 at North Iowa Mercy Health Center's East
campus, Mason City.
Funeral services were held at:30 p.m. Friday,
Sept. 15, 1995 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear
Lake. The Rev. Dean Hess officiated. Burial was in
Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
The family suggests memorials be made to the
Elsie J. Woyen Memorial Fund. Ward-Van Slyke
Colonial Chapel was in charge of services.
Elsie was born June 24, 1900 in Havana, Ill., the
daughter of August Hahn and Johanna Hahn (nee)
Tackenberg. She attended school in North Dakota.
She moved from the west coast to Mason City in
1946. She moved to Clear Lake in the 1960s. She
lived in Clear Lake until 1988, then moved to Mason
City.
She was united in marriage with Eddie Woyen in
December 1923 in Moorhead, Minn. Her hobbies
included raising flowers, tatting and crocheting.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clear
Lake.
She is survived by a daughter, VaLois Masters, of
Mason City; a son-in-law, Floyd Fousek, Cedar Falls,
Iowa; four sisters, Kathryn Pederson of Adams,
Minn., Erma Griffin of Minnewauken, N.D., Eleanor
Donaldson of Oberon, N.D., and Mary Combs of
Concord, Calif.; four grandchildren, Valerie
Salsbury of Freemont, Calif., Elzora Dalrymple of
Woodbury, Minn., Melinda Gonyaw of Palm Bay, Fla.
and Mark Masters of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and
seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
husband; a daughter, Naomi Fousek; three brothers,
Lawrence Hahn, Harry Hahn and Norman Hahn; and a
sister, Margaret Griffon.
Music at the funeral service was provided by
organist Karen Harthan and soloist Marilyn Sadler.
Pall bearers were Carlin Hahn, Larry Hahn, Walter
Swanson, Duane Hahn, Marvin Carlisle and Don Hanson.

Bertram
"Burt" H. Kruse, 84, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday,
Sept.
19, 1995, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason
City. There is
no funeral service planned. Burial will be in
Vinton Cemetery, Vinton,
at the convenience of the family, Mason City. The
body will be cremated. Major Erickson Funeral Home,
111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, was in charge
of the arrangements. Memorials may be given to
Hospice of North Iowa.
Bertram Kruse was born Sept. 14, 1911, at Vinton,
the son of
Henry G. Kruse and Olive Kruse (nee) Barnes. He
graduated from
Vinton High School and Yale University.
He was a reporter for the Hartfort Courant
Newspaper then
worked in public relations for New Departure
division of General
Motors. He married Mary E. Traer on June 21, 1935,
at Vinton. He served in the U.S. Army serving one
year in Japan with the U.S. occupational forces. The
Kruses moved to Cler with the U.S. occupational
forces. The Kruses moved to Clear Lake in 1951,
where Bert then published the Cerro Gordo Farmer
until 1966.
He was an author of light verse published in the
Saturday Evening
Post, Wall Street Journal, Tennis Magazine and other
national journals. He constructed cross word puzzles
published in major papers such as the New York
Times, Los Angeles Times and the Minneapolis Star
and Tribune as well as cross word puzzle books.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Traer of
Clear Lake; one son
George Traer Kruse, San Francisco, Calif.; and one
daughter, Mary, and husband, Jerry Weidler,
Montgomery, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one
sister and two
brothers.

Borschel, 82, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Sept. 22,

Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street,
Clear Lake with the
Reverend Fred Lewis of the United Methodist Church
in Clear Lake
officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
The family of Mary Louis Borschel has requested
that memorial
contributions be made to the United Methodist Church
in Clear Lake or to the Muse-Norris Hospice
Inpatient Unit in Mason City in her memory.
Mary Louis Borschel was born Oct. 5, 1912 in Des
Moines, the
daughter of Louis Delbert Lynxwiler and Ethel (nee)
Hunsinger
Lynxwiler. The family moved to Cedar Rapids and she
attended and
received her education in the Cedar Rapids school
system, graduating
from Cedar Rapids High School in 1930.
She was united in marriage to Ardell Edward
Borschel on April
22, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He preceded her
in death in January of 1977. In 1957, they moved to
Clear Lake where she worked for several years at the
Grethen House in Clear Lake.
She enjoyed reading, golfing, watching golf on
TV., feeding birds
and squirrels, but her great love and enjoyment was
her family and
grandchildren.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church
in Clear Lake.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Lou
Christeson and her
husband Mearle of Osage; three grandchildren, Lisa
Spencer and her
husband Stan of Nora Springs, Bradley Christeson and
his wife Liz of
Indianapolis, Ind.; and Kevin Holden of Bettendorf,
Iowa; three great-
grandchildren, Steve and Sarah Malone of Nora
Springs, and Bradley
Christeson, Jr., of Indianapolis; and one sister,
Dawn Bennett and her
husband Don of Springfield, Mo.; as well as other
relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in
death by her
parents and one brother, Tom Lynxwiler.

Garner, who died
Thursday, Sept. 21, 1995 at the Muse-Norris Hospice
Inpatient Unit in
Mason City were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept.. 25,
1995 at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with
the Rev. Robert Grossmann as officiant.
Mrs. Dean Cataldo was organist and soloist.
Interment of the
cremains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a
later date.
Robert Dean Molencamp, the son of Steve Molencamp
and
Hilda Molencamp (nee) Uben was born May 1, 1932 at
Dougherty. He
attended the rural schools of Cerro Gordo County.
On Oct. 5, 1951,
he married Georgia A. Dunahoo at Mason City. Robert
was employed
by Northern Natural Gas Company northeast of Garner
for nine years;
for Andrews Pre-stressed Concrete Company in Clear
Lake, as yard
superintendent for 15 years; was self-employed for
several years
and then worked for Yohnson Ready Mix Concrete in
Garner, until
he retired in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Dunahoo
Molencamp of Garner;
four children, Mark Steven Molencamp and his wife,
Robbie, of Garner,
Mickey Jo Molencamp and his wife, Vanetta, of
Garner,
Deon Marie Molencamp of Spanaway, Wash. and Jeffrey
Dean Molencamp and his wife, Gloria, of Garner; five
grandchildren; one great grandchild; his mother,

He was preceded in death by his father, Steve
Molencamp; a sister,
Maxine Benn; and an infant brother, Kenneth
Molencamp.
