Alice K. Trausch
July 7, 2005
Alice K. Trausch, 80,
of Clarion, died on Sunday, July 3, 2005, at the Wright Medical Center,
Clarion.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 5, at the St. John's
Catholic Church in Clarion. Fr. David Beckman officiated at the 10:30
a.m. service. Burial was in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Clarion.
Alice K. Trausch, was born on February 24, 1925 at Mallard, the daughter of
Erasmus Ross and Christine (Murphy) Studer. In 1934, the family moved to
a farm near Clarion. She attended country school.
On June 5, 1943, Alice was united in marriage to Francis Trausch at the
St. John's Catholic Church in Clarion.
Alice had a very strong spirit. She never gave up on a sick or lame
animal. Farming was everything to her. Alice was raised on a farm and
she and Francis farmed. Her heart was always in the farm. She was a life
long member of the St. John's Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Church was very important to Alice.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Meyer and husband, John of
Clarion; two grandsons; one sister, Mary Hilton of Pocahontas; her
special girls, Ellen Olson of Des Moines and Sue Ann Hollingsworth of
Perry; one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis in 1990; and
five brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the
Wright County Humane Society.

July 7, 2005
Graveside services will be held for Lenna M. Shaw
at the Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, July 9, at 2:00 p.m.
Friends and relatives are invited to a lunch with the family immediately
following at the Southtown Apartments Community Room.

Wilma M. (Evans)
Rude
July 14, 2005
Wilma M. (Evans) Rude, 94, formerly of
Huxley, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2005, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in
Des Moines.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, July 12, at the Soderstrum Funeral Home
in Slater. Burial of the cremains was held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.
Wilma was born on September 21, 1920 in Prairie City, to William J. and
Margaret (de Reus) Evans. The family moved to Clarion, Hampton, farmed
near Chapin, and finally settled again in Clarion where Wilma graduated
from high school in 1927. She married Clifford E. Rude on April 7, 1938.
Wilma and Clifford lived in Spencer, moving to the Huxley area in 1947.
While living in Des Moines they adopted two children, Carolyn Kay and
Ronald C.
Wilma was a homemaker and her family was her major interest. She enjoyed
playing cards, church work, volunteering and handiwork and crafts.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; one
son, Ronald; one brother, Clifton Evans; and two sisters, Ione Kee and Irma
Tomke.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Kay Gordon of Billings,
Montana; four grandsons; three grandchildren; one sister, Mary Arvizu of
Des Moines; a sister-in-law, Mabel Evans of Clarion; and nieces and
nephews.

Raymond Martin Clark
July 21, 2005
Raymond Martin Clark, 89, passed away on Monday, July
11, 2005, at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 15, at the United Methodist
Church, Rockwell. Pastor Lewis Bram of the First Baptist Church,
Rockwell, officiated at the 10:00 a.m. service. Interment was in the
Rockwell Cemetery.
Raymond Martin Clark, was born on August 12, 1915 at Webster City, the son
of Mary Claude and Bertrude Clark. When he was young he helped his
father on a large dairy farm at Iowa Falls. The family moved to Svea,
Minnesota, were he worked on a large diary for the Norland Brothers. He
later became foreman of a crew that built silos in the surrounding area.
Raymond was the oldest of six children.
Raymond accepted the Lord when he was 15 years old and has been faithful
all his life. He was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and filled
the pulpit many times. As a young man he came to Iowa and picked corn by
hand and at that time met his future wife, Frances.
Raymond and Frances were married on December 8, 1939. To this union two sons
were born, Dennis and Arland and one daughter, Virginia. Raymond and
Frances bought their farm in the Galt area. They first had a dairy herd
and then went to beef cattle and raising turkeys. In 1973, they sold
their farm and moved to Pueblo West, Colorado where Raymond worked for
the Pueblo West Metro District grading roads. In 1980, they moved back
to Rockwell where he maintained the Linn Grove Park in Rockwell for
several years. Due to ill health in 2000, he moved into the Rockwell
Community Nursing Home.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years; children, John Schroder and wife,
Pat of Brainerd, Minnesota, Elaine Matykiewicz and husband, Joe of
Pueblo West, Colorado, Dennis Clark and wife, Marlys of Fertile,
Virginia Hulsing and husband, Don of Rockwell, Arland Clark and wife,
Mary Margaret of Spearfish, South Dakota; a sister, Florence Kriens and
husband, Ken of Thornton; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; many
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Frances Katharyn Evans
July 21, 2005
Frances Katharyn (Klinger) Evans, 83, of Eagle
Grove, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at the Trinity Regional Medical
Center, Fort Dodge.
Memorial services were held on Monday, July 18, at the United Methodist
Church, Eagle Grove. Rev. Mary K. Green and Pastor Paul Akin officiated
at the 11:00 a.m. service.
Frances Katharyn Klinger, was born on July 18, 1921 in Clarion, the daughter
of Olen and Viola (Manchester) Klinger. She was raised and educated near
Goldfield, graduating from the Goldfield High School in 1938. She
attended A.I.B. in Des Moines, receiving training as a court
stenographer. Frances used her training to transcribe for the United
States Air Force at Randall Airfield in San Antonio, Texas.
On December 9, 1945, Frances and Frederick E. Evans were united in
marriage at Goldfield. They made their home on the Evans family farm
near Woolstock. Frances was a homemaker and devoted her life to caring
for and loving her children and grandchildren. The couple moved to Eagle
Grove in 1985.
Frances was a member of the United Methodist Church in Woolstock and
Eagle Grove, serving in the United Methodist Women, choir and as a
Sunday School Teacher. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, music, dancing
and was a 4-H Leader. She had a love of horses, meeting her husband,
Fred, while showing Belgians.
Frances is survived by her husband, Fred of Eagle Grove; three daughters,
Judy Evans-McDowell of Canyon Country, California, Constance Landgraf
and husband, James of Montgomery, Texas and Melody Amonson and husband,
Kelly of Woolstock; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Harlen and
Kristie; two sisters, Majel Boring and Iola Akin; and one brother, Ty
Klinger.

Joe K. Lester
July 28, 2005
Joe K. Lester, 80, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died on
Sunday, July 17, 2005.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 23, at the Roller-Chenal
Funeral Home, North Little Rock.
Joe K. Lester, was born on October 29, 1924 in Clarion, the son of John and
Marietta Lester.
Joe served in World War II, serving as a ranger and served through the
Occupation of Japan. He qualified for medical school after only two and
one-half years of college. After completing medical school at the
University of Oklahoma in 1952 and several years of family practice in
Shamrock, Texas, he received a degree in orthopedics and became the
first orthopedist in North Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dayle Britt Lester; five
children, Mary Lester, Ellen Lester Reif and husband, Mike, Joe Lester
Jr. and wife, Kathy, Carol Lester and John Lester and wife, Jessica;
nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Genevieve M. Allen
August 4, 2005
Genevieve M. "Gene" Allen, 87, of the Methwick
Community, died at the Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday, July
30, 2005, after a brief illness. Gene had been a resident of the Methwick
Community since 1996.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, August 3, at the Turner West
Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Gene was born on April 1, 1918 in Clarion. She graduated from the Clarion
High School in 1936 and attended Cornell College and the AIB Business
School. She married Dwight Allen and they were later divorced.
For several years she was an office supervisor and medical secretary for
pathologists, Coleman and Denser in Des Moines. For 22 years she served
as a Field Representative for the American Cancer Society, Iowa
Division.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Allen and companion, Geri Oster
both of Lander, Wyoming; two nieces and their families and one nephew and
his family, all of Omaha, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Grace Cramer; twin
brothers, Warren and Walter; and former husband, Dwight Allen.
