Marie Ann Doughan
November 18, 2004
Marie Ann Doughan, 101, of
Webster City, formerly of Wesley, died on Monday,
November 8, 2004, at the Crestview Senior Living in Webster
City.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 12, at the St. Thomas Aquinas
Catholic Church, Webster City. Father John R. Flaherty
officiated at the 11:00 a.m. service. Burial was in
the
St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wesley.
Marie Ann Doughan, was born on January 28, 1903 on a farm near Wesley, the
daughter of John and Anna Loebig. She was united in
marriage to Elmer Doughan on June 20, 1922, by Father
Dominic Lickteig, cousin of the bride. The couple
lived on a farm near Stilson and then moved to a farm
near Wesley and later moving to a their home in
Wesley.
Marie enjoyed her family and many friends and the center of her life was
her family and faith. She was active in the St.
Joseph's Parish, including a membership in the Altar
Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Sister Mary K. Doughan of Clarion and
Audrey Walmsley of Webster City; one sister, Mildred
Arndorfer of Algona; seven grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer on June 21,
1976; one daughter, Sister Adele in 1989; one
son-in-law, J.D. Walmsley; and one brother, Victor
Loebig.

Rosemarie Harmon
November 18, 2004
Rosemarie Harmon, 66, of Clarion, died
on Friday,
November 12, 2004, at the Trinity Regional Medical
Center in Fort Dodge.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 17, at the First Lutheran
Church, Clarion. Pastor Gary Boen officiated at the
1:30 p.m. service. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery,
Clarion.
Rosemarie Harmon, was born on August 11, 1938 in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the
daughter of Irvin and Freda (Sandman) Harmon. She
graduated from the Clarion High School in 1956. Rosie
was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Clarion
and the F.L.C.W. of Clarion.
Rosie loved people and was involved in numerous church and community
activities, where she utilized her baking and craft
skills. She did volunteer work for the American
Diabetes Association and the Alliance for the
Emotionally Handicapped.
Rosie is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Stevens and husband, Russ of
Clarion and Kristine Clothier and husband, Charles of
Polo, Illinois; four grandchildren; one sister, Sondra Hecox and husband, Dale of St. Charles, Illinois; and
many other friends and relatives.

Lyle Eugene
Steiner
November 24, 2004
Lyle Eugene Steiner, 48, of
New Providence, died at his home on Tuesday, November
16, 2004.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 19, at 2:00
p.m., at the Honey Creek-New Providence Friends Church
in New Providence. Burial was in the New Providence
Cemetery.
Lyle Eugene Steiner, was born on July 20, 1956 in Clarion,
the eldest son of Wendell and Mary Hahn Steiner. He
was a 1974 graduate of the Clarion High School, after which
he continued to educate himself in any of the many
occupations that he pursued.
On May 27, 1978, Lyle married Kollene Marilyn Morgan,
also of Clarion, and together they raised a family of
five children. His occupations were a carpenter and
farmer, using his skill with tools and love for
animals to make a living for and with his family. He
loved to sing and spent many years first with the
Choralaires of Clarion, and then the Sacred Sounds
Gospel Quartet. He was an EMT in Clarion, a 4-H Leader
in Ellsworth, and a Community Club member in New
Providence.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Kollene of New
Providence; three sons, Martin Steiner and wife, Angela
of Eldora, Joel Steiner and Jason Steiner, both of New
Providence; two daughters, Holly Steiner of Ames and
Andrea Steiner of New Providence; mother, Mary Steiner
of Woolstock; one brother, Robin Steiner and wife,
Rebecca of Clarion; and one sister-in-law, Loralie Ashton
and husband, Jack of Moore, Oklahoma.
Lyle was preceded in death by his father; and infant
son, Ryan Daniel.

Bernice Margaret
Reichter
November 24, 2004
Bernice Margaret Reichter, 83,
formerly of Goldfield, died on Friday, November 19, 2004,
at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 22, at the United Methodist
Church in Goldfield. Rev. Karen Dearchs officiated at
the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in the Glenwood
Cemetery.
Bernice Margaret Keen, was born on March 1, 1921 in rural Humboldt County,
the daughter of Martin and Dagny (Andreson) Keen. She
was raised around Thor and was baptized and confirmed
at the Thor Lutheran Church. Bernice attended country
school and graduated from the Renwick High School in
1939.
On March 15,1941, Bernice was united in marriage with Wendell R. Reichter
at Thor. They farmed the family farm until moving to
Goldfield in 1976. Wendell died on January 27, 1997.
Bernice was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Goldfield,
where she also taught Bible School and Sunday School
for many years. She belonged to many social clubs and
organizations, including the D.O.C. Club and also
several bridge clubs, especially enjoying her games of
bridge played at the Oakridge Country Club.
Survivors include two sons, David Reichter and wife, Cheryl of Elkader
and Dean Reichter and wife, Jackie of Goldfield; two
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister,
Mabel Nelson of Goldfield; one brother, Richard Keen
and wife, Bev of Storm Lake; several nieces and
nephews; sisters-in-law, Mildred Keen of Thor, Wanda
Keen of Spencer and Corine Keen of St. Louis Park,
Minnesota.

Mildred "Tillie" Anderson
December 2, 2004
Mildred "Tillie" Anderson, 75, of North Platte,
Nebraska, formerly of Clarion, passed away on Saturday,
November 20, 2004.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 24, at the United
Methodist Church in Clarion. Pastor Don Morrison
officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in the
Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.
Mildred Ilene Carlson, was born on June 13, 1929 on a farm near Renwick, the
daughter of Tom and Charlotte (Johnson) Carlson. The
family later moved to a farm south of Denhart where
she attended country school.
On August 28, 1948, Tillie was united in marriage to Verdie Harvey
Anderson in Garner. The couple lived on a farm near
Clarion, raising their two children. The couple moved
to Clarion in 1975.
Tillie worked for the Clarion Locker and Meredith Corporation, retiring
in 1991.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Davidson and husband, Michael
of North Platte, Nebraska; one son, Thomas Anderson
and wife, Deanna of Goldfield; four grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Minor of
Clarion and Margaret Anderson of Kanawha; one brother,
Donald Carlson of Watertown, Wisconsin; numerous
nieces and nephews; and other family members.
Tillie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and seven brothers.

Maurice J. White,
Sr.
December 2, 2004
Maurice J. White, Sr., 73, of
Dows, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at the
Hamilton County Hospital, Webster City.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 1, at the Abundant Life
Chapel in Dows at 10:30 a.m. Burial was in the
Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.
Maurice J. White, Sr., was born on September 19, 1931, the son of Ora and
June (Burt) White at the family farm in Galt. He was
baptized at the Abundant Life Chapel in Dows.
Maurice graduated from the Dows High School, attended Iowa State College
and entered the U.S. Army in August 1952. He served
with the United States Army Headquarters for Europe
which was located in Heidelberg, Germany. Maurice
returned from the Army in August of 1954 and started
farming the home farm.
Maurice married Sharon Fraser on December 15, 1957. They continued to
farm until 1988 when they discontinued farming.
Maurice was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Ames
on April 25, 1987 and continued working there until
February of 1997.
Maurice was a founding member of the Abundant Life Chapel where he served
as an elder for many years. He served on the Rural
Electric Coop Board for 26 years, the Wright County
Farmers Insurance Board, The Farmers Home
Administration County Committee, Rural Fire
Association Board, as a township trustee, and a 4-H
Leader. Maurice also served as a Commodity Grain
Inspector for the Agricultural Stabilization
Committee. He was a charter member of the Wright
County Gun Club, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a
member of the American Legion. Maurice enjoyed all
sports and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls, and
especially loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by three children, Maurice Jr. and wife, Cathy of
Williams, Diane Sutherland and husband, Quin of San
Diego, California and Phyllis Jacobson and husband,
Darwin of Woolstock; five grandchildren; and two
step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
