Rose Mardelle Redenius
December 18, 2003
Rose Mardelle Redenius, 63, of Clarion,
passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2003, at the University Hospital in Iowa
City.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 8, at the First United
Methodist Church, Clarion. Rev. Don Morrison officiated at the 1:30 p.m.
service. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. The Willim Funeral Home was
in charge of the arrangements.
Rose Mardelle Verbrugge, was born on February 27, 1940 in Belmond, the
daughter of Heis and Tillie (Christians) Verbrugge.
On January 1, 1960, she was united in marriage to Kermit Redenius at the
Wright Christian Reformed Church in Kanawha. To this union five children
were born.
Rose’s life joy was to help her husband and family. She enjoyed flowers,
gardening, decorating for the holidays, various crafts, and quilting. She
made each of her children and grandchildren their own quilt with their own
special message on it. Also close to her heart was her church, UMW and PEO.
Rose is survived by her husband, Kermit; daughter, Pamela Spangler and
husband, Kim of Eagle Grove; three sons, Mitchell and wife, Stephanie of
West Des Moines, Michael of San Francisco, California and Marvin and wife,
Chris of Belmond; daughter, Patricia and fiancée, Jeffery Cordeiro of Royal
Palm Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren; mother, Tillie Verbrugge of
Kanawha; three sisters and two brothers, Marjorie Roskamp and husband,
Bernard of Clarion, Donald Verbrugge and wife, Deloris of Kanawha, Nick
Verbrugge and wife, Rouletta of Kanawha, Ruth Eekhoff and husband, Robert of
New Era, Michigan and Lois Lamfers and husband, Roger of Kanawha.
She was preceded in death by her father.

Marcus Bradley Kopps
December 23, 2003
Marcus Bradley Kopps, 44, of Eagle
Grove, died on Thursday, December 18, 2003, at the Iowa City Hospitals.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at the Church of
the Nazarene in Clarion. Rev. Tony Sollazzo will officiate at the 1:30 p.m.
service. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, at a later date.
Marcus was born and raised in Clarion. He attended the North Iowa Area
Community College in Mason City and Iowa State University, Ames.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret of Clarion; one brother, Jeff of
Monterey, California; one sister, Vicki of Webster City; one niece; and one
nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Kopps in 1980.

Gary Dean Lund
January 1, 2004
Funeral services for Gary Dean Lund, 65, of Clarion, were held
on Friday,
December 26, 2003, at the First Lutheran Church in Clarion. Pastor Gary Boen
officiated. Casket bearers were Mike Marshall, Kevin Marshall, Jake Johnson,
Bob Murphy, Chad Disney and Mark Disney. Honorary bearers were Larry E.
Olson, Jim Larick, Harlan Poolman, Harlan Askelsen, Mark Lester, Roger
Iverson, Tom Terrall and Larry Taylor. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery,
Clarion. The Ewing Dugger Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Gary Lund died on December 23, 2003.
Gary Dean Lund, son of Peter T and Esther (Rhiner) Lund
was born on December 5, 1938 at Renwick. He was baptized at Ullensvang in Thor
and confirmed at First Lutheran in Clarion. He attended Grant #9 Country
School and graduated from the Clarion High School in 1956. In 1961 he joined
the National Guard 133rd Tac Con Flt in Fort Dodge until 1967.
On May 31, 1964, he was united in marriage to Caroline Nesheim at the Lake Lutheran Church in rural Renwick.
Gary farmed for 39 years and trucked for several
businesses in the area. He was a Grant Township Trustee, was Treasurer of
the Rural Fire Association since 1994, served as Trustee and Chairman of the
Lake Cornelia Sanitation Board since 1980 and was on the Wright County Board
of Adjustment. He was a past Chairman of the Wright County Extension Council
and served on the North Central Farm Service Board.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline; sons, Michael
James of Clarion and Matthew Dean and his wife, Michele of Clarion; twin
granddaughters; his sister, Susan Duffee and her husband, Steve; and two
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant
son.

Maxine Koltvet
January 1, 2004
Funeral services for Maxine Koltvet, age 80, of Clarion, were held on
Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at the Holmes Lutheran church, with Rev. Stanley
Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery.
Maxine Koltvet died on December 26, 2003, at the USA Healthcare Center in Clarion.
The Ewing
Dugger Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Maxine was born on April 11, 1923, to Nels and Bertha
(Midland) Koltvet in Wright County. She attended school at Lake #5 and was
baptized and confirmed at the Holmes Lutheran Church where she was a life
long member.
Maxine was afflicted with pneumonia, brain fever and
polio as a child and was unable to pursue a career. She spent many years in
giving help as needed to her sisters and their families,
She is survived by her sister, Naomi Austin of
Rochester, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Eveline Andersen, Leona Stavnheim, Ann Koltvet, Bernice Lund and Blanche
Thompson; four brothers, Theodore, Benard, Bernard and Stanley.
